Job Description
THE KEY BITS
- Whereabouts: We are a fully remote company with globally distributed team members. For this role, we are prioritizing candidates who are based in any European time zone.
- Visas: We do not sponsor work visas or relocation expenses.
- Salary: We have budgeted a range of $75-90k USD but are flexible to speak with candidates who feel excited about the role and qualify.
- Video Interviews: First Interview (30 minutes) with People amp; Culture Lead Nicole or Co-Founder/COO Will, Second Interview (30 minutes) with Chief Architect amp; Engineering Team Lead Maciej, Third Interview will be a Technical Interview (1 hour) with Tech Lead Fernando and one of our Frontend Engineers, and Fourth Interview (45 minutes) with Co-Founder/CEO Michael plus one or two more Engineering or Product team members

YOUR CONTRIBUTION
In this rapidly evolving world, Slate is always looking for new ways to disrupt the status quo, go to market faster, and optimize customer experiences. We are looking to add a fourth Frontend Web Engineer to our team. Our current Engineering team includes our Co-Founder/CEO Michael, a Chief Architect amp; Engineering Team Lead, a Tech Lead, a Project amp; Delivery Manager, 3 Frontend Web Engineers, 1 Backend Web Engineer, 2 iOS Engineers, 2 Android Engineers, and 4 QA Engineers. The ideal candidate will have big ideas and strategies that foster an environment of collaboration and creativity. Therefore, this role is ideal for someone who is motivated to combine the art of design with the art of programming and enjoys implementing visual elements that users see and interact with in a web application.
You will:
- Continue pushing forward the development of our customer-facing web product with the development of new features
- Actively contribute to a small team of globally distributed engineers and designers working autonomously by developing features rapidly
- Write sustainable, testable, high-quality, high-performance code
- Build reusable code and libraries for future use
- Follow designs with great attention to detail to a create beautiful and usable web product
- Work closely with the UI/UX Designer to bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works
- Translate UI/UX design wireframes to actual code that will produce visual elements of the application and ensure the technical feasibility of the UI/UX designs
- Work with the product team to understand customer needs, use-cases, and feature roadmaps
- Develop top-class user experiences
- Optimize application for maximum speed and scalability
- Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
- Adapt to fast-moving business requirements amp; changes
- Open to sharing knowledge with team members and help/assist others as needed
- Collaborate with executives, other team members, and stakeholders
Requirements
WE'D LOVE TO HEAR FROM YOU IF YOU MEET THESE QUALIFICATIONS:
- 5-6 years web development experience
- Proficient with Angular 8+, Typescript 3.5+, Javascript, Bootstrap 4+, and NgRx
- Good understanding of Angular ecosystem, tools, and libraries
- Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS 2+
- Knowledge of 2d graphics is a big plus
- Design Patterns
- Familiarity with commonly used TypeScript /JavaScript frameworks and libraries
- Ability to think effectively, critically and creatively
- Fluency in English
