Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the VAT to General Ledger Reconciliations for a defined number of Business entities across a large number of European countries, for our clients.
- Analyse on a transactional basis the year to date balance on all Input, Output amp; Control Accounts where VAT related transactions are posted to ensure correct classification of open items are reported.
- Interact with Inter departmental teams (both internal and external) to ensure resolution of open items.
- Identify process improvements to support our VAT Compliance team and to ensure reconciling items are kept at a minimum and Balance Sheet Reconciliations are as clean as possible.
- Assist with the roll out of process improvements / efficiencies and prepare process documents to support any changes identified.
- Prepare journals / parking templates as directed during review meetings to support the clearing of reconciling items.
- Investigate entries posted to ledgers within ERP system and provide appropriate supporting documentation for entries made.
- Manage the follow up process and ensure all updates are documented appropriately.
- Assist with Metric Reporting for tracking Current and Aged items being cleared on a quarterly basis.
- Assist with mini-projects identified to clear legacy reconciling items.
- Attend Quarterly Client review meetings for all business entities under your responsibility.
- Support other ad hoc projects as and when required.
Requirements
- Experience in International Indirect tax reporting and/or accounting preferred;
- Proficiency in PC skills (including MS Word and Excel) essential;
- Experience and basic knowledge of any major ERP systems a strong advantage;
- Excellent technical skills amp; strong attention to detail;
- Team player with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently to tight deadlines and ability to prioritise tasks accordingly is essential.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English essential.
- 1+ year experience in a similar position is an advantage however all relevant training will be provided where necessary.
