- Develop and implement privacy compliance programs in accordance with UK and EU data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) and other relevant regulations.
- Conduct privacy impact assessments for new products, features, and initiatives to ensure compliance with data protection requirements.
- Advise on data privacy matters related to the collection, storage, and processing of personal data, including data subject rights and breach response procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed privacy-by-design principles into product development processes.
- Provide legal support and guidance to the EMEA and International SaaS Sales team, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of commercial agreements, such as SaaS subscription agreements, master services agreements, and reseller agreements.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including sales, finance, and product management, to address legal issues and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends impacting Everbridge's operations in EMEA and International markets.
- Stay informed about changes in relevant laws and regulations and communicate updates to stakeholders as necessary.
- Provide practical and strategic legal advice to internal clients to help mitigate legal risks and achieve business goals.
- Qualified solicitor or barrister with a minimum of 6 years of post-qualification experience including privacy law, procurement, and commercial transactions.
- Strong knowledge of UK and EU data protection laws (e.g., GDPR) and experience implementing privacy compliance programs within multinational organizations.
- Demonstrated experience drafting, negotiating, and advising on contracts and commercial agreements.
- Sound understanding of regulatory compliance requirements, including export control, sanctions, anti-corruption, and competition law.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Prior experience working in the technology, software, or SaaS industry is preferred.
