The Analytics Engineer will act as the subject matter expert for any technical development in DBT or Looker. They will own these platforms, ensuring that any code changes and new features are built in a sustainable way and without contributing to tech debt.
Analytics Engineers will be required to form a deep understanding of our more holistic Data Platform to enable safe work on wider parts of the data stack.
The Analytics Engineer will partner closely with the analysts, holding them accountable to following best practice when working with these systems. They will view these tools/platforms holistically, designing a longer term strategy for how they can provide the most value to the business. Their success will be measured by the increase in analyst’s efficiency - whether this is achieved through better self-service by stakeholders or easier to analyse datasets.
